TDEC Awarded Contract with the CDC

Bethesda, MD – TDEC’s Government Services Division has been awarded a one year contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. The CDC’s mission is to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health – through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats. The CDC has developed an HIV Prevention Strategic Plan to guide prevention efforts. One of the four major goals of the HIV Prevention Strategic Plan is to provide better visibility to monitor the epidemic through the creation of a surveillance system called the Medical Monitoring Project (MMP) to monitor behaviors and clinical outcomes among HIV-infected persons. This surveillance system is currently functioning in 26 cities and states and is expected to run well into the future.

TDEC will support the MMP by providing management, database development, data entry, forms tracking and related services on-site at the CDC. TDEC will track, control and enter information from forms, perform quality control and deliver data for the CDC to analyze and report the progress of the epidemic.

“We are really excited to add the CDC as a customer and we look forward to building a long term, mutually beneficial relationship” says R. Dennis DuFour, President of TDEC. “The services we are providing the CDC here are exactly what we do best; develop tools and use our experienced people and processes to control, capture and deliver timely and accurate data.”

TDEC is celebrating its 50th business year in 2008 joining an elite group of successful long term businesses.
