GRSi Selects TDEC for California National Guard Digitization Project

Oakland, MD – October 21, 2020: TDEC, a leading provider of Business Process Outsourcing services, was recently awarded a subcontract by GRSi, a Maryland-based technology innovations company, to provide services for the California Army National Guard (CAARNG) Digitization Project.

CAARNG has maintained discharge documents pertaining to the time in service of former service members for over 80 years. These records currently exist in microfiche, film, paper, and digital storage. To avoid further deterioration and loss of records, CAARNG wants to digitize the microfiche and film archive. Advancement in technology has made the outdated equipment currently utilized hard to maintain/service and/or replace. The need to digitize the almost 8 million images is imperative to ensure their preservation for service members and their families for years to come.

TDEC was selected by GRSi to partner on this project because of TDEC’s deep expertise in digitization, specifically Optical Character Recognition, and TDEC’s reputation for speed and precision in similar past performances.

“We are excited to work with GRSi and make these important records available for future generations,” said TDEC President Dennis DuFour.
