Bethesda, Maryland – January 17, 2019: TDEC, a leading provider of Business Process Outsourcing services, has been awarded two task orders by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) through TDEC’s GSA Schedule 36 contract.
Tackling an Application Backlog for the Wage and Hour Division
The DOL Wage and Hour Division (WHD) administers and enforces a wide variety of labor laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act, which allows an authorized employer to pay subminimum wages to workers with disabilities whose earnings are impaired. WHD has a backlog of these paper-based applications to be entered into its electronic database. TDEC personnel will perform data entry and quality control services at DOL designated sites to eliminate the backlog.
Extracting Survey Data for the Bureau of Labor Statistics
The Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) Survey, conducted by the DOL Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and partners in 54 states and territories, is a voluntary survey that produces occupational employment and wage estimates by industry and geographic area. Respondents are given several options by which to submit their data including mailed paper survey forms. BLS expects 65,000 to 85,000 survey forms to be returned which contain handwritten employment and wage data for up to 1.25M employees throughout the United States. As part of this one-year task order (with a one-year option), TDEC will scan the hard copy forms and then key in the respondent’s data into an electronic database within two weeks of receipt.
These two projects represent TDEC’s second and third projects with DOL. TDEC currently provides data entry, data preparation, clerical imaging, scanning, maintenance and mail support services as part a 5-year contract with DOL’s Nationwide Operational Support and Case Creation Support (NOSS) program.
“We are honored to have been chosen again by Department of Labor,” said Dennis DuFour, TDEC’s president. “Our GSA Schedule 36 contract created the path by which these DOL agencies could quickly and easily acquire our services so, in turn, the agencies could fulfill their responsibilities in a timely manner.”
TDEC’s Schedule 36 contract (#03F-021DA) covers Special Item Number 51-506 (Document Conversion Services) and Special Item Number 733-1 (Mail Room Administrative Services).
